Last month we heard rumors that Infinix is working on the world’s thinnest smartphone. Now it seems those rumors weren’t entirely off the mark. Infinix has officially started teasing its latest device, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus in the Philippines and it’s pushing the limits of smartphone slimness.

This phone might not be the world’s thinnest but it’s certainly one of the slimmest. The official teaser shows a 6.8mm thickness—a feat for any modern smartphone although it doesn’t beat the Vivo X5 Max which had a 4.75mm profile back in 2014. However, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus will be the slimmest non-foldable phone since the Tecno Camon 11 series launched in 2018.

Design and Display: A Visual Delight

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus is designed to grab attention with its super slim body and AMOLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s perfect for smooth scrolling, gaming and a vibrant visual experience. Plus with an in-display fingerprint scanner, the display isn’t just beautiful; it’s also practical and functional giving users a premium feel.

Performance: Mid-Range but Efficient

Under the hood, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus is powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 processor. This is not the most powerful chip in the market but it’s enough for daily tasks. Infinix is confident with the device’s performance, they have a TUV certification that says “5-year performance fluency”. While we always take such claims with a grain of salt, the promise of lag-free performance for 5 years is good news for those who want durability and consistency.

The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM which is enough for multitasking and 256GB of internal storage which is a lot for a mid-range device so you won’t worry about running out of space for apps, photos and videos.

Launch and Availability

Infinix has not announced the official launch yet but the teaser in the Philippines says it will be available soon. While pricing is still unknown, the mid-range specs suggest that Infinix will price it affordably so it’s a good option for those who want a stylish and slim device without the premium price.

Slim Package, Balanced Offering

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus won’t be the thinnest phone ever but 6.8mm is still slim and one of the thinnest among non-foldables. This is a plus in the market, especially for those who prioritize design and portability.

The MediaTek Helio G100 processor may not deliver flagship-level performance, but it offers an efficient, reliable experience suited to most users’ needs, especially with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to support it. The 120Hz AMOLED display is a standout feature in this segment, providing users with vibrant visuals and a snappy, responsive interface.

Infinix seems to be taking a balanced approach with this device—delivering a standout design while making sensible choices in terms of performance and features to keep it accessible. With a mix of impressive design elements and solid mid-range specifications, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus is poised to be an interesting option for those who want their next smartphone to be sleek and stylish without compromising usability.
