LG Rollable Smartphone Listed on Bluetooth SIG Certification


LG’s Rollable mobile has been making headlines since it was first teased. Since jumping back and forth between news of the project being halted and revived, we now have a new Bluetooth SIG listing.

At the LG Wing reveal, LG made a short statement regarding a new Rollable smartphone. The company then released a product video and showed off the concept at CES 2021. LG, on the other hand, was quickly involved in a new controversy.

According to reports, LG will be exiting the smartphone market shortly, and the LG rollable will be phased out as well. However, according to a company spokesman’s tweet, there is still scope for the handset to reach the retail market.

Apart from the name and Bluetooth information, the listing contains no useful information. In that respect, the LG Rollable’s requirements are actually scarce. According to previous news, it will be the second system in the LG Explorer project, called ‘Project B.’

In terms of the launch, rumors suggest that the company has postponed the date back from Q1 to Q3 of 2021 (July-September), but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation.

The Bluetooth certification website lists an LG smartphone with the model number LM-R910N. The device is referred to as the ‘LG Rollable.’

As mentioned on the page, this phone will be compliant with Bluetooth 5.2. At this time, the device’s other core has not been revealed.

However, sources say that the LG Rollable would have a 7.4-inch rollable display with a resolution of 2428 x 1080 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio in phone mode, based on previous leaks.

During video mode, the device is said to have a resolution of 2428 x 1366 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone could be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 888 chipset, which would be backed up by 16GB of RAM.
