Xiaomi 12T certified by FCC, may launch in late Q3 or early Q4 of this year

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States has certified a new Xiaomi smartphone with the model number 22071212AG. The listing (via) has disclosed important details such as its versions and connectivity features. This smartphone is expected to be released in late Q3 or early Q4 of this year under the name Xiaomi 12T.

Previous sources have said that Xiaomi is preparing two devices with the codenames “Plato” and “mayfly.” The model numbers for these devices are 22071212AC/G and 22081212C/G. The letters “C” and “G” represent the Chinese and global versions, respectively. L12 and L12A are the short model numbers for these devices.

In China, the L12 (mayfly) is expected to make its debut as the Redmi K50S Pro. In global markets, it may be known as the Xiaomi 12T Pro. There are two additional variants of this smartphone with model codes 22081212UG and 22081212R. The first is expected to be known as the Xiaomi 12T Pro Hypercharge, but the latter might be a Japan-only model that will launch alongside the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

The L12A (Plato) is expected to be released under the Redmi K50S moniker. It might be known as the Xiaomi 12T in other countries. This smartphone has gotten FCC approval, and key features about it have been revealed.

According to the FCC listing, the Xiaomi 12T will have connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11ax, 5G (7 bands), Bluetooth, GPS, and an IR blaster. It will be available in two variants: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.

The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipsets powered the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, respectively. The Xiaomi 12T Pro is expected to use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Chipset, whereas the 12T may have a Dimensity SoC.
