LG V30 received official LineageOS software support

The six-year-old LG V30 appears to be received official software support on the LineageOS platform, which should satisfy users. Now that the custom ROM is out, here are all the specifications.

The smartphone was initially introduced by the South Korean manufacturer back in 2017, and its official software support was just discontinued. Android manufacturers generally advise against using a smartphone after it has surpassed its official support, however, the smartphone has been revived with LineageOS support. For those who don’t know, LineageOS is the popular CyanogenMod’s spiritual successor. CyanogenMod was a significant custom ROM back in the day.

For those who don’t know, the LG V60 was the final model in the company’s renowned V series of smartphones. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor, which is more than able to run LineageOS smoothly on the smartphone, rendered the V30 a premium-grade smartphone from its time and also had top-notch features. However, the smartphone is still relatively powerful when used regularly, thus LineageOS provides the old phone new life.

The newest version of the custom ROM, LineageOS 20, which runs on the Android 13 operating system, is available right now. Compared to LG’s last update, which only had Android 9 OS as of 2019, this one is much more relevant. For those who are interested, you may download the ROM directly from the catalog. But, you should update at your own risk, backup your data, and take all necessary steps.
