Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said today on Weibo that the headphone jack will be retained on the entire Redmi Note 11 series. He also said that there aren’t many smartphones left that still have it.

The latter may appear excessive to some, given that most inexpensive options stay to the tried-and-true 3.5mm standard. However, it should be noted that the Redmi Note 11 series is no longer an affordable option. At least, that’s what the most recent rumors appear to indicate.

While the cheapest variant, the Redmi Note 11, is expected to price CNY 1199 (approximately $187), the most premium model, the Redmi Note 11, is expected to cost CNY 2499 (about $391), the highest price for any Redmi Note model.

This puts the most expensive option, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, in the midrange category. And headphone jacks have become rarer at that price range in recent years. As a result, the smartphone is a nice choice for music lovers who want to use wired earphones but still want decent specs.

Redmi Note 11 series Specifications (Key Specs)

In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 11 series is expected to be a key improvement over the Redmi Note 10 series. The top variant is expected to use a Mediatek Dimensity 920 chipset, which is an upper-midrange 5G processor.

Please keep in mind that none of this has been officially confirmed, so take it all with a pinch of salt.

The Redmi Note 11 series will use Samsung AMOLED displays with high refresh rates and thin bezels, according to what has been verified so far. The smartphones will also have a triple back camera arrangement and fingerprint sensors on the sides. AG glass for the back panel will be standard across the series, according to the company.
