Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g: Design

Keeping the form factor the same, Samsung has made every effort to make the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G stand out.

Two-color options are available – Black and Bronze.

It goes without saying that the Bronze color is a head-turner with a frosted glass back.

The front of the device looks like Note 10+ but the rear of the phone gives a completely new look.

There is a huge camera module at the back with three large lenses and a laser AF sensor.

The huge camera module looks attractive, but it makes the device wobble when placed on a table, especially when you’re using the S-Pen stylus to do some scribbling.

Talking about the S-Pen stylus, Samsung has shifted the location of the S-Pen slot from right to left, but it doesn’t matter much.

Samsung has used the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both the front and back for security, however, the camera module is protected by the Gorilla Glass 6.

The Note 20 Ultra 5G is a large phone with a 6.9-inch display and weighs 208 grams.

The curved glass on both sides makes it comfortable to hold but it will take some time to be used to hold the phone confidently.

The glass and metal frame body is strong and difficult to hold. Overall, the device looks premium, and overall the design appears classy.

As far as ports are concerned, you only get a Type-C port and it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g: Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G comes with a 6.9-inch Quad HD + Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display (3088×1440) with 496 PPI and HDR 10 + certification and refresh rates up to 120Hz.

You have the option to opt for a 60Hz display or the software has the facility to customize the refresh rate up to 120Hz according to the content played on the screen.

It goes without saying that the 60Hz refresh rate saves the battery.

But using the S-Pen stylus with a 120Hz refresh rate provides a very comfortable experience.

The feel of the stylus is something that Samsung does best and it really resembles the feeling of writing on paper.

Talking about the display quality, it is one of the best smartphones that you can take for gaming or watching movies.

However, it will be a difficult task to differentiate between day to day usage in the display quality of S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra 5G.

But if you are upgrading from a mid-range device, the display quality will surprise you.

The colors are vivid, the legibility of sunlight is good, there is no problem with the viewing angle and everything looks great on this display.

As far as features are concerned, there are no new display features for such a mention.

It has an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works well in unlocking the phone quickly.

S-Pen and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G software features

S Pen Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra 5g: images, hd wallpaper, release date in india, full review in details

Samsung has improved the S-Pen stylus and it now supports gestures and the IP68 is dust and water-resistant.

Gesture support may sound cool, but really you may not want to move the stylus to the front of the phone as a magic wand to get basic stuff like changing the volume or changing a page or changing the music track.

The range of the S-Pen stylus has been extended and you can use it to take selfies from long distances. In addition, the S-Pen stylus functions are similar to the Note 10+.

Samsung has not used the same S-Pen and made minor changes in the design.

You can use the S-Pen to control the camera and even use it as a clicker during the presentation.

Samsung has basically handwriting recognition with the Note 10+.

This means that whatever you scribble with the S-Pen can be converted to a text format compatible with Microsoft Word.

For example, if you type something in Hindi, you can use this feature to convert text that is Microsoft Word compatible.

This saves you from the hassle of typing in Hindi.

Samsung also plans to add support for other Indian languages in the coming months.

On the software front, you can now use DX seamlessly. For the uninformed, with Dex, you can convert any monitor to a separate PC.

For example, you can play PUBG Mobile on the device, while editing the video using the Android application while it is connected to the MacBook via DeX.

You can open two instances of the same app on Note 10+ and via DX on a PC or MacBook.

There is also keyboard and mouse support. If you like, you can actually convert the Note 20 Ultra 5G to a laptop via DX.

Not to forget, Microsoft’s Your Phone app for Windows integration with Link now allows users to easily access their mobile applications directly from Windows 10 PCs.

You can make and receive all calls from your Windows 10 PC.

Talking about the user interface, the device comes with the familiar Android 10-based OneUI.

Most bloatware can be removed for the first time, including the Facebook app.

However, there are three hidden Facebook apps that you cannot distinguish from whether you use Facebook or not.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g: Performance

The device is powered by an octa-core Exynos 990 processor coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The hardware specifications are the same compared to the S20 Ultra.

Talking about performance, this tool is considered a workhorse. Be it gaming, multi-tasking on DX, or recording 8K video will not harm you in any way.

However, the device gets slightly warmer than other phones during gaming, recording videos, and if you’re on Wi-Fi, the device usually stays warm.

You can blame the Exynos processor for that but it does not affect the heat performance.

It is difficult for most average users to find a performance fault with the kind of work they do that uses gaming, streaming content, and the camera.

If you are a DX while gaming on your phone, expect the device to overheat and you will get some hiccups.

Overall, it is a smooth performer and builds to deliver the performance required for heavy gaming and ultimate productivity.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5g: Conclusion (Verdict)

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G offers quite a bit, but there may be little reason for the Galaxy Note 10+ users to upgrade in terms of experience.

As we mentioned at the beginning of the review, the Note 20 Ultra 5G will convince you that you can achieve a lot on a smartphone but do you really need those features?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is easily regarded as one of the best flagships of 2020.

If there is no money problem and you want to get the most powerful Android phone from there then go for it.

But if you are planning to get it on EMI, make sure you really need all the features of the Note 20 Ultra as there are cheap flagships like the S20 + or S20 Ultra or even the OnePlus 8 series.

Not to forget, there is also Apple iPhone 11 or 11 Pro in this price range.

For Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, it offers the best display, good design, smooth performance, good camera, solid design and it doesn’t get any better.
